Housekeeping Positions

HOUSEKEEPER/ HOUSEMAN
Approximate salary range: $26,000 to $32,000 per year
Experienced in performing all or most of the household cleaning described below.

HOURLY HOUSEKEEPING POSITIONS
Approximate wage range: $12.50 - $18.00 per hour

Light Housekeeping
Tasks that are done on a daily basis to keep up with high traffic areas. Usually done in conjunction with child care.

Moderate Housekeeping
Overall responsibility for the general cleaning of the home. Washing dishes, laundry, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing furniture, changing linens, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, ironing and keeping track of cleaning supplies.

Heavy Housekeeping
In addition to the moderate housekeeping, responsible for cleaning baseboards, windows, blinds, light fixtures, buffing floors, etc.

LAUNDRESSES
Approximate wage range: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour
Experienced in the care of fine fabric and clothing. Duties include washing, ironing, pressing and stain-removal.

HANDYMAN
Approximate wage range: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Knowledge of general household maintenance. Duties include heavy housekeeping, changing light bulbs, light yard work, errands and odd jobs around the home.
